OLE BOB

August 18, 2011
By BILLY HALLIBURTON

BOB was the ultimate usher and greeter....he had remarks for everyone....he was loved by all and just before his passing he came to our home and fixed something for Marsha and I.

I had a project going that involved the Karen folks and he offered to help me finance the project which was real nice and it really helped.....He loved his wife and family and often told me so.

He talked of how the church had helped him but we know that he also helped the church in many ways.

His attributes were many and will not be  forgotten......May his soul REST IN PEACE.....

Ultimate Usher

August 03, 2011
By Fr. Ray Kasch

One Sunday I was walking down the hall toward the nave to begin our service when I heard a young boy who was helping Bob usher say to someone "Welcome to All Saints'. We know that you have a lot of choices and we thank you for choosing us today." At that point I raced down the hall to inform the boy that this was not Amercian Airlines and that all he needed to say was welcome. Whoever could have been the one that set him up for that? bob got a real laugh out of that one.

Captain Bob

July 30, 2011
By Alan Biddle

I had the pleasure of flying with Bob at American.  He was that rarest of all captains.  He really DID know it all, but had no need to remind you of that.  On one trip, he got his yearly line check.  That means a check airman rides along to see how you are doing.  They sometimes ask questions about recent changes in procedures, or things which are high profile.  The check airman asked Bob a question.  Bob's polite reply was to quote three different relevant answers from the various manuals which contradicted each other.  The check airman didn't ask any more questions for the entire tirp.

When John and I first started going to church at All Saints I introduced Bob to family "...and this is Carl...".  Finally, one Sunday Bob said to me, "You know, I like Carl, but today I think I'd like to be Bob." He. always had a smile and a funny cheerful little encouragement. I hope I see him again in Heaven.

Very nice service for Bob today. I can just hear his funny laugh. Gillian suggested I take a plate of brownies to put at his grave. I'm just going to miss that guy.

Our beloved Bob Cole entered Larger Life this morning. News about final arrangements will be coming soon. Please keep his family in your prayers. They've asked for some quiet time, so if need to relay a message, please let Father Ray know. May Bob's soul, and all the souls of the dearly departed, rest in peace.July 4 at 6:01pm

I helped teach the Sunday school class (four and five year olds) Often on Sunday,

as he left his Sunday school class he would reach in and turn off the lights in the classroom. One Sunday when I was teaching by myself a litlle girl in the class went and closed the door . When I asked why she closed the door "she said smiling so Bob can not turn off the lights today".He had a way of making you smile.I really do not remember if he did reach in and turn off the lights as usal( he probably did) I just know the kids loved him. This is an example of how much Bob is in our thoughts then and now. He was a special friend to all .
